The Perfect Coffee Mug Quest

I’m on a quest to find the perfect coffee cup, and have stepped it up since breaking my favorite cup two days ago. The problem is there’s a lot that goes into a great coffee cup–it needs to be the right size and hold the right amount of coffee, the handle needs to be the right shape, it needs to keep coffee hot and yet not be too hot to hold comfortably, the lip needs to be just right for sipping…

Here are the latest ones to catch my eye while I’m on the hunt for a new coffee cup–if you have a favorite, by all means post it!

How cute is this set? It’s an upcycled collection of colored mugs complete with cute mustache motif. Plus, because there’s more than one, everyone can have one.

I love the shape of the handle on this one–it’s elegant and looks really comfy. The splash of color is really cheerful as well.

This lovely set includes two coffee cups, a sugar jar and a creamer and it’ll make a morning coffee ritual so much more enjoyable. Check out those shapely (and unique) handles).

If you need a mug that will also travel, this lovely apple green ceramic mug comes with a lid so that you can even use it on the go. It holds 16oz so it’s perfect for a *big* cup of morning coffee.

Of course, a coffee mug doesn’t *really* make the coffee taste different, but it certainly can make the experience of that morning cup (or afternoon cup) considerably more enjoyable. In fact, a good weighty cup, to me, is reason enough to choose one coffee shop over another (and not just because I cringe every time I toss a disposable paper cup).

I have a coffee cup set from Target, but it's far from perfect–a couple of the cups chipped right away, the color doesn't go with my kitchen, and the handles are too small for me. I'll be checking out these links you shared–thanks!

Love those mustache mugs! (Came via Twitter–love the site.)

I must disagree–coffee definitely tastes better in a good mug. I know it shouldn't, but it does! ;-) Thanks for the roundup, Jess.
