Welcome to Tuesday’s Top Ten where we round up our favorites on one particular topic. Today, we’re talking office tunes–since we’re all about the home office here at GirlyPC, we thought we’d start with one of the best things about working in your own digs: you control the stereo (or Pandora account, whichever the case may be).
So, what’s your favorite music to work to? Classical? Pop? Old fashioned rock and roll? We’d love to hear your top artists, too!

Definitely R&B. And I *love* Pandora–it has a great selection.

What's Pandora?

@Claire–check out Pandora.com–it's one of several sites that lets you select artists or songs to build a personal "radio station" around. It takes a little while at first because you have to tell it which songs you like and which you don't, but once you get it customized, it's pretty cool.
My favorite work music is folk, especially stuff like Nick Drake–I like that it's complicated enough to really listen to, but also that when clients stop by, they usually can't place it and don't find it distracting.

I only listen to music on my breaks–you're right that getting to control what you listen to (or in my case, don't) is such a great perk of working at home. I used to have to wear a headset at work to block out all the noise, and now I embrace the silence.

I'll be the first to admit it–I'm a fan of cheesy teen pop. I *know*, my friends all mock, too, but I find it the perfect work music because it's upbeat and a little… mindless.

I love, love, love listening to Joss Stone while I work–there's something about the way she puts every ounce of herself into her singing that keeps me inspired to do my best.

Instrumental soundtracks. I'm a writer and like that they don't distract me from the words in my head.

Like Riley, I'm actually a fan of silence, though I do enjoy music when I'm cleaning the office. (As if that happens often! Ha.)

Folk for me too, please.

Rock–usually the classic stuff. Keeps me moving and motivated.

I find music distracting; I do like silence when I work.

Show tunes. Fortunately, with Glee on the air, I look a little cooler now.
